Sanford Florida Industrial Complex Gets Custom Duro-Last Roof From SPC
This large commercial roofing project was completed in Lake Mary of the greater Orlando metropolitan area in Seminole County, Florida. Located in an industrial complex right outside of Orlando Sanford International Airport.
Older and failing Gypsum decking gave us limited options in a re-roof for this commercial space. Gypsum decking is essentially a drywall/concrete board material that’s a mixture of calcined gypsum binder, and wood chips or other aggregate; when mixed with water, it sets to a conglomerate mass used in years past for poured gypsum roof decks.

In years past, a fully adhered roofing system was the only method for re-roof.
Removing the gypsum decking presents a multitude of problems as that is akin to a drywall like material – It commonly falls apart, risking structural damage, and water intrusion to your commercial property.
Thankfully with our trusted partners at Duro-Last, we were able to come up with an ingenuitive system using the newly Florida Product Approved – Verafast Duro-Last Mechanical Fasteners, fastened to the current decking to pass our pull test with flying colors.
